AT&T Inc. posted a nearly $6.7 billion fourth-quarter as it booked several large charges, but the telecommunications giant’s revenue rose 3.6% on continued subscriber growth.
In the latest period, AT&T added 717,000 customers who signed long-term service contracts, up from 319,000 in the third quarter. The company also added 2.5 million total wireless subscribers, raising its base to 103.2 million.
The company sold 9.4 million smartphones, including 7.6 million iPhone activations. Sales of Android devices doubled the amount sold a year earlier.
